Services
Our goal at SEMDC is to diversify SE Montana’s economy, support entrepreneurship, enhance community development and capacity building, plan for future developments and infrastructure, and help to network and build relationships among SE Montana’s stakeholders and leaders.
SEMDC works to achieve those goals by providing numerous services which include: small business assistance, grant writing and administration, planning and loan programs for small businesses.
The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) provides technical assistance to businesses and entrepreneurs in Treasure, Custer, Rosebud, Powder River, Prairie, Fallon, Wibaux, Dawson and Carter counties in Southeastern Montana.
The purpose of our Loan Program is to help stimulate business growth by providing low interest loans for expansion or start-up businesses. Minimum loans are $10,000. For every $20,000 of funds lent in this program, one job must be created.
SEMDC offers Grant Assistance with writing research, assistance, and administration services to businesses, government entities, and non-profit organizations in southeastern Montana. Some examples of projects we have helped fund are: infrastructure, studies, planning projects, and training.
Our Planning Services helps to maximize positive impacts and mitigate negative impacts – locally and regionally. Projects small and large can have many effects socially, economically, environmentally, psychologically, physically, and environmentally within communities.
